Psychology is an academic discipline and an applied science that seeks to understand the mind and its role in the behaviour of individuals and groups.
Psychologists explore the gamut of emotions, thoughts, perceptions and other concepts that determine a person’s personality, behaviour and how they deal with different situations in life and their relationships. Psychology has been described as a "hub science", with its research findings having implications in social sciences, natural sciences, medicine, humanities and even philosophy.
While a majority of psychologists are often involved in the assessment and treatment of mental health issues in clinical, counselling, or school settings, many attempt to solve problems in other spheres of human activity to help benefit society like in industries, organizations, media, forensics and even the judicial system.
